How do I make a payment?

Do I need a PayPal account to pay?

No. When you click “PLACE ORDER”, you are temporarily directed to PayPal.com. There you can select to login to a PayPal account, or to pay with a debit or credit card without a PayPal account.

How do I use a discount code?

You can enter your discount code to your shopping cart during checkout, before your payment.

Is there VAT included in the price?

No, if you are outside the European Union. Yes, if you are in an European Union country.

To comply with the 2015 EU VAT rules, VAT (value added tax) is automatically included in the product prices based on the VAT rate of your country. We detect your location automatically based on your IP address and location. There are no actions needed from your behalf.

If you are a non-EU citizen visiting an EU country while making a purchase from our store, VAT will be included in the price. In this case, you can reclaim the VAT later by contacting us.

EU companies with a valid VAT number can exclude VAT by entering their company name and VAT number before purchasing.

I have a company in an EU country. Can I get VAT 0% price?

Yes. If you have a company with a valid EU VAT number, VAT is excluded from the sales price according to the VAT reverse charge procedure.

Note: This rule applies only to foreign countries. Effect Sense is based in Finland. Finnish companies can use regular tax deduction mechanism when reporting their taxes.

We automatically check your company name and VAT number from the EU VIES VAT number validation system.

After the payment, you will get an email that includes a link to your invoice. The invoice includes the order details and our VAT number.

NOTE: Because VAT is collected only from EU customers, the VAT fields are not visible to customers outside the EU.

I need a sales invoice for my purchase. How can I get it?

When your payment is completed, you will get a receipt to your email. In that email, there is a download link for your invoice.

I want to share a sound library with my colleagues or friends. Do you sell multi-user licenses?

Yes. Our regular license is for a single user only. If multiple editors/sound designers have access to the sound files (for example, from a shared Sound FX hard disk), you have to buy a multi-user license. Read more about multi-user licenses.

Downloading

How do I download my sound effects?

Download links to your new sound effects can be found from purchase confirmation page and from your order email. Click the first download link to begin downloading the sounds. Some products have multiple ZIP files to download. Click on the next link when the previous file has finished downloading. Double-click a downloaded ZIP file to unpack the sound effects.

I haven’t received my order email. Where is it?

We will send your order receipt to your email address immediately after your payment. If you can’t see it in your email inbox, refresh your inbox and check spam folder. If you are unable to find your order email, contact us and we will send you a new one.

My download link doesn’t work. Can you help?

Each download link expires after 3 attempts or 48 hours. If you need to download your files but the links have expired, contact us and we will send you new links to your files.

Using the Sound Effects

In what format the sound clips are delivered?

Our sound libraries are delivered in ZIP packages that can include audio files, PDF documents, XLS spreadsheets and images. The sound files themselves are high-quality 96 kHz, 24 bit WAV files.

Some products may include WAV files with a different sample rate or bit depth than 96 kHz, 24 bit. For example, 44.1 kHz, 16 bit WAV files may be included for straightforward game implementation. You can read detailed specifications for every SFX library from their product pages.

Do the sound effects include metadata?

Absolutely. We use sound effects daily. We know how frustrating it can be working with sound files that lack metadata and proper filenames. Gigabytes of audio files are useless if you cannot quickly find the sound you need.

We love metadata and archiving. We also tend to spend excessive amounts of time tweaking our work. Every single audio file published by Effect Sense is embedded excellent Soundminer & BWAV metadata including rich descriptions with searchable keywords. BWAV metadata is compatible with most DAWs including Pro Tools Workspace and Reaper Databases.

In addition, many of our sound libraries include PDF spec sheets with useful extra information about the subject, microphone placement and other inspiring details. Metadata sheets in TXT and XLS are also included.
